As a Network Programmer at Ubisoft Montreal, you will have a direct impact on the quality of a game's connected experience. You will be responsible for developing low-level networking systems, multiplayer engine development, and network performance optimization. You will be part of a team tasked with ensuring an optimal connected experience.

Facing each new iteration, you will strive to answer the most fundamental questions: Will the game be performant during multiplayer matches? Will the latency meet and exceed the expectations of professional players? Is the connected experience smooth?

As a reliable member of a cohesive online development team, you will participate in the design, development, testing, integration, and debugging of a game's network systems. You will strive to provide the best possible multiplayer experience, which is what our audience deserves.

What You Will Do

  • Develop high-performance, reliable, and fun networking features in collaboration with gameplay and game design teams;
  • Understand existing functions and suggest and develop improvements to create the best multiplayer experience;
  • Collaborate with various production and support teams;
  • Fix bugs in the networks;
  • Document your work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering;
  • At least 5 years of experience in C++ and Python code development and optimization;
  • Experience with multiplayer engines, distributed systems, network code optimization, and multithreading;
  • Experience in developing network features on Microsoft and Sony consoles, an asset;
  • Experience working on a team that has delivered a multiplayer game, an asset;
  • Familiarity with C#, an asset;
  • Ability to communicate with all stakeholders and support your team and drive them towards quality and game vision;
  • Creativity and a thirst for innovation.
