SST Advisor – Institutional Project in Nunavik (Rotation 35/10)
Join an important institutional project in Nunavik!
We are looking for an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Advisor to join our team on a major institutional construction project in Nunavik.
You will play a key role in promoting a prevention culture, applying health and safety standards, and supporting field teams to ensure a safe work environment.
Your main responsibilities
- Animate OHS orientations for new workers.
- Conduct daily site inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
- Conduct risk analyses and participate in the implementation of preventive measures.
- Advise supervisors and workers on good health and safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with OHS laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Participate in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and analyses.
- Lead or participate in OHS meetings and committees.
- Follow up on work permits and prevention documents, when required.
- Ensure compliance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Produce OHS reports and documentation.
- Promote a prevention culture and proactively engage with teams.
Desired profile
- OHS training or relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience on a construction site (an asset).
- Good knowledge of OHS regulations.
- Excellent communication and animation skills.
- Leadership, autonomy, and organizational skills.
- Team spirit and prevention-oriented approach.
- Ability to work in a remote area and on a rotating schedule.
Working conditions
- Location: Nunavik.
- Project: Institutional construction site.
- Duration: Approximately 4 years, with winter breaks during the first two years.
- Schedule: Rotation of 35 work days / 10 days off.
- 10-hour workdays.
- Overtime pay after 55 hours per week.
