We are looking for a talented individual to join our retirement benefits administration team at Mercer as a Senior Retirement Benefits Analyst. This position will be based in Montreal. It is a hybrid position requiring at least one day a week in the office.
The senior analyst works as part of a team at Mercer's center of excellence in retirement benefits administration. You will be part of a team that provides high-quality administration services to a portfolio of clients, including exceptional customer service and timely responses in all your client interactions.

We Will Count On You To
- Calculate retirement benefits and prepare the resulting statements following various events (employment termination, retirement, death, divorce, transfer, etc.)
- Update the client's database (data request and validation, use of various systems and databases, data processing and accumulation of benefits and other relevant information, reconciliation of participation data, etc.)
- Produce annual statements for plan participants and annual information statements
- Understand the provisions of the plans and the various applicable laws
- Calculate equivalence factors (EF), adjusted equivalence factors (AEF), and past service equivalence factors (PSEF)
- Respond to client and participant inquiries
- Administer plans that may have complex features (flexible plans, executive plans, hybrid plans, etc.)
- Participate in various special projects, such as plan liquidation, early retirement program, pension indexing, implementation of new plan provisions, etc.
What You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (finance, actuarial science, mathematics, or business administration)
- Experience in finance and/or mathematics
- Excellent English communication skills are required for this position, as it involves communicating with clients outside the Quebec region
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team, sense of responsibility, and resourcefulness
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and practical knowledge of the MS Office suite
