- Purpose of the position
Reporting to the director of methods and programming, the incumbent develops and writes manufacturing routings in accordance with customer requirements and specifications and company standards to optimize the performance and work methods of production personnel and reduce production costs. The incumbent also participates in all activities: evaluating the equipment and hardware and estimating the steps and time of production of each part in-house or subcontracted.
Responsibilities
- Analyze technical drawings: interpret information regarding materials, specifications and manufacturing instructions;
- 3D modeling and 2d drawing of parts as needed using Catia V5;
- Write manufacturing ranges and coordinate the introduction of new products through the FAI (first article inspection) process;
- Establish and define the manufacturing range as a team with the programmers;
- Provide technical support to the plant's operations to safely produce quality parts, at the lowest cost, in an optimal time, that meet customer needs;
- Interpret and validate the technical requirements of the drawings on the Catia V5 software;
- Ensure constant compliance between drawings, specifications, and manufacturing ranges;
- Analyze the impact of change requests from customers or internally using the contract review and risk analysis procedure;
- Complete various tracking files or any other related tasks;
- Be on the lookout for new developments and processes in the aeronautics industry;
- Work closely with all departments;
- Participated in the design of internal tools.
- Job Requirements
Education Requirements
- Diploma of collegial studies (DEC) in aircraft construction or mechanics or bachelor's degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering;
- Any other professional training combined with relevant experience may be considered.
Technical skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the aerospace or precision manufacturing industry in a similar position;
- Junior Engineer, 3 years of experience an asset;
- Minimum 3 years of experience using Catia V5 drawings;
- Ability to carry out follow-ups and controls;
- Excellent command of French (spoken and written) and functional proficiency in English (reading and writing), required to read and understand English-language documentation from suppliers located outside Quebec.
