SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

The Junior Production Planner provides direct support to planners in preparing and updating production schedules for all company sites (including a plant in Ontario). His main role is to ensure the accuracy of data and contribute to the planning and scheduling of activities. He may also be called upon to replace planners during absences or vacations to ensure the continuity of operations and the respect of delivery deadlines. Reporting to the Planning Team Leader, he works closely with estimation teams, project managers, purchasing, design, and production teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enter data from submissions into the planning system to anticipate future production loads.
  • Provide support to planners in tracking drawings and production setup.
  • Keep kanbans up to date.
  • Perform daily tracking and adjust the production schedule in case of changes.
  • Schedule and sequence production and shipping dates in the global calendar.
  • Optimize production sequences to reduce setup times and maximize efficiency.
  • Allocate workloads between departments and plants, considering capacities and constraints.
  • Participate in inter-departmental daily planning meetings.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to calculate material requirements.
  • Analyze and control capacity needs and adjust priorities accordingly.
  • Participate in the implementation and optimization of the ERP (Epicor) and in-house systems.
  • Collaborate to assess future workforce and capacity needs for each site.

Education / Experience

  • DEC in logistics, operations management, or related field.
  • Relevant experience in production planning (manufacturing environment), ideally 1 to 3 years.
  • Experience in a multi-site environment (including Ontario) is an asset.

Skills and Qualities

  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (Epicor is an asset).
  • Bilingual (French and English), oral and written.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Rigor, attention to detail, and adaptability.
  • Good tolerance for stress and tight deadlines.
  • Team spirit, effective communication, and proactivity.

Full-time position.

Location: Boucherville, with occasional travel to St-Hyacinthe.
