HOURS 40 hours SALARY $93,194.40 YOUR CONTRIBUTION
- Organize, coordinate, and supervise the work of teams assigned to:
- Maintenance, construction, and repair of water supply and sewer networks, pumping stations, and all related equipment;
- Identification and correction of spillage issues in the networks;
- Clearing, snow removal, sweeping, repair, maintenance, and repair of streets and sidewalks;
- Maintenance and installation of traffic signs;
- Cleaning of septic tanks;
- Work related to buildings: carpentry, painting, concierge, construction, installation, and maintenance of building amenities.
- Contribute to hiring, welcoming, and integrating unionized staff, supervise, train, and evaluate their performance;
- Participate in the development of all safety policies, directives, procedures, methods, and techniques, and ensure they are followed;
- Conduct an investigation and analysis for any accidents. Apply corrective measures if necessary and make recommendations to your supervisor;
- Plan the availability of machinery, equipment, materials, and labor based on the work to be done;
- Report on your activities and prepare cost estimates and necessary drawings for their implementation;
- Record all necessary elements for the maintenance and repair of water supply and sewer networks to keep them in good condition;
- Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance system for water supply and sewer networks, following a scheduled plan;
- Forecast the materials needed for the proper functioning of different systems, periodically inventory them;
- Regularly inspect your equipment and machinery;
- Work closely with other supervisors in the Public Works Service;
- Determine and seek out new methods or processes better suited to the execution of work or for improving services and submit them to your supervisor;
- Handle complaints and information requests from taxpayers;
- Participate in the development and implementation of projects for the City in collaboration with other services;
- Participate in the preparation of budget forecasts;
- Actively participate in meetings of your service;
- Inform your immediate supervisor of any major irregularities or disturbances you are aware of;
- Perform your on-call duty at Public Works in rotation;
- Know and act in accordance with the health and safety at work policy as well as the prevention program;
- Perform any other task that your immediate supervisor may request.
THE CANDIDATE WE ARE LOOKING FOR MUST
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) in civil engineering technology or any other relevant field;
- Have at least five (5) years of relevant experience in the field;
- Bold, provides solutions, and has a sense of urgency;
- Demanding and capable of ensuring tight follow-ups;
- Communicate in a positive, direct, and precise manner, must be project and task-oriented;
- Be skilled at supervising staff;
- Have good physical condition;
- Be willing to work evenings, weekends, and on-call during the winter;
- Have a valid driver's license.
