Senior SST Coordinator – Hydro-Québec | Travel Throughout Quebec
Contribute to a strategic health and safety at work project!
We are looking for two Senior SST Coordinators to participate in an important project with Hydro-Québec.
In this role, you will act as a health and safety mentor and coach to the field teams. Your mission will be to support project managers, superintendents, foremen, and other workers in strengthening their skills, promoting best practices, and ensuring rigorous application of SST rules.
This is not an inspection or evaluation role, but rather a support position where your ability to mobilize, influence, and create a trusting atmosphere will be essential.
Your main responsibilities
- Support and coach managers and supervisors in the application of best practices in SST.
- Act as a mentor to project managers, superintendents, and foremen.
- Promote a lasting and proactive prevention culture.
- Conduct visits to various Hydro-Québec construction sites and facilities across Quebec.
- Observe work practices and suggest improvement opportunities.
- Advise teams on identifying and managing risks.
- Facilitate meetings, field discussions, and SST awareness sessions.
- Support teams in applying procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Develop a trusting relationship with various stakeholders.
- Foster team autonomy in health and safety matters.
Desired profile
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in health and safety on construction sites or in an industrial environment (20 years of experience is a significant asset).
- Excellent knowledge of legislation and best practices in SST.
- Experience in coaching, supporting, or mentoring managers and field teams.
- Motivational leadership and a collaborative approach.
- Excellent relational and communication skills.
- Ability to positively influence with tact and kindness.
- Strong adaptability to different work environments.
- Sense of listening, professionalism, and credibility.
- Availability for frequent travel throughout Quebec.
Working conditions
- Client: Hydro-Québec.
- Project: Strategic health and safety project.
- Location: Travel throughout Quebec.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Travel is done within working hours.
- Mileage reimbursement.
- Hotel accommodation and meals at restaurants covered according to project guidelines.
- Two positions to be filled.
