The technical sales engineer position contributes directly to the company's mission: to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a global reality. As a technical sales engineer, you will be responsible for addressing technical issues related to the wind turbine and wind farm, and assisting the sales team on the technical side. Your goal is to contribute to the success of projects, develop customer relationships, and ensure the technical validity of proposals, as well as supply and service contracts. Your responsibilities include the development and optimization of technical solutions throughout the sales process, from pre-acquisition to handover to the project management team. Additionally, this position ensures the interface between technical experts and customers. This requires collaboration for the preparation of proposals and the negotiation of supply and service contracts for wind turbines.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Answer technical questions from customers and sales directors.
Prepare technical responses to sales offers/RFPs and lists of discrepancies if necessary.
Manage technical reviews and coordinate internal technical services.
Act as the first point of contact for customers regarding technical questions in the sales process.
Participate in meetings with customers (if necessary) to clarify and/or negotiate the technical scope, including the preparation and delivery of technical presentations/documents.
Prepare and negotiate supply turbine agreements ('owner') for all technical aspects of the contract, including the technical scope of the supply, the power curve/noise guarantee, etc.
Support the development and optimization of technical solutions (for example, the optimal selection of the turbine for the project) and sell the project from a technical perspective.
Support the development of specific technical solutions (new/specific project options).
Take charge of and follow up on wind turbine and site requests as well as site evaluation reports, including customer information on turbine suitability.
Keep sales directors informed of all relevant technical information (especially the power and thrust curve).
Identify and compile market requirements/trends, including interconnection requirements, environmental/climatic conditions, wind regimes, network and site constraints, active and reactive power control, voltage, frequency, CMS and cybersecurity.
Normalize and continuously develop and improve the technical sales process.
Organize (if necessary) confidentiality agreements and exchange information with external consultants/suppliers (for example, PSSE/PSCAD models, foundation loads, transportation/access route requirements, electrical specifications, etc.).
Help prepare gates 2/3 (especially technical risk analysis - Gate Evaluation Report).
Prepare technical handover to the project management team, which will be responsible for the construction of the project. Prepare the necessary change requests to implement specific project technical solutions, for example, sector management, SCADA systems, content management systems, etc.
Prepare and update technical information on turbine configurations for all projects in the operational planning process.
Site project visits and customer meetings required, approximately 25% of the time.
Other assigned tasks.
