About the Position - Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare reinforcing steel installation drawings from plans and estimates;
  • Ensure coordination between production, delivery, installation on-site, and the general contractor for projects under their responsibility;
  • Manage project management;
  • Receive, after the contract is signed by the sales department, the submission plans and construction plans to verify if there have been any changes along the way;
  • Refer to your manager in case of changes that result in additional costs;
  • Communicate with the contractor when the plans are final, to identify the client's particular needs and plan the project's progress;
  • Create, using a computer-aided design (CAD) software, the workshop drawings according to the plans designed by the general contractor, and then return them to the contractor for approval;
  • Make the requested corrections to the drawings based on the general contractor's annotations;
  • Produce, after the approval of the workshop drawings, the forms for the manufacture of reinforcing steel, taking into account the length, diameter, required bending, and type of steel;
  • Transmit the forms to the production department's planner to launch the manufacture of the bars, respecting the delivery deadlines;
  • Maintain constant communication with the general contractor and site foremen;
  • Manage changes, make additions, and make necessary modifications according to the site's directives;
  • Assist in coordination meetings with the different actors of the project;
  • Produce end-of-project documents.
  • About You - The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Experience in the construction and/or reinforcing steel industry, an important asset;
  • Diploma in civil engineering technology (DEC), architecture (DEC), or building design (DEP);
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD, MicroStation);
  • Ability to visualize and imagine geometric shapes and objects in 3D (an asset).
