The Front-End / Back-End Software Developer will contribute to the development, integration, testing, and support of Positron’s Virtuoso platform (Network Management).
Virtuoso is a web-based application used by customers, network operators, and Positron support teams to manage, configure, monitor, and support Positron Access Solutions product deployments.
This role is ideal for a practical, curious, and technically strong Front-End / Back-End software developer who enjoys building clean user interfaces, working with modern web technologies, integrating with APIs, and collaborating with software, firmware, SQA, product, and support teams.
Education, Experience, and Core Skills
A bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing modern web applications using React Development Tools, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Core skills include:
- Strong knowledge of React Development Tools and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.
- Ability to develop clean, maintainable, and user-friendly application interfaces.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs and front-end/back-end integration.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience working in a Windows-based software development environment using tools such as Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, Jira, or similar tools.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with software, firmware, SQA, product, and customer-facing technical teams.
What You Will Do
- Virtuoso Application Development
- Develop, maintain, and improve Front-End / Back-end features in the Virtuoso application.
- Build user interfaces and workflows used to configure, manage, and monitor Positron products.
- Support application functions related to GAM administration, CPE discovery, CPE configuration, customer/site setup, diagnostics, alarms, reporting, and user management.
- Prepare installation scripts for the supported Linux and VM platforms.
- Contribute to clean, maintainable, and reusable front-end code.
- API Integration and Product Workflows
- Integrate Virtuoso user interfaces with back-end services and REST APIs.
- Support workflows related to product configuration, software/firmware upgrade management, Layer 2 configuration, and VLAN-related setup.
- Help maintain compatibility with existing and future Positron GAM and CPE product generations.
- Contribute to future Virtuoso application evolution and feature integration.
- Debugging, Release Support, and Collaboration
- Investigate application issues using logs, browser debugging tools, API responses, database information, and structured troubleshooting methods.
- Support SQA during test execution, issue reproduction, regression testing, and release verification.
- Participate in requirements clarification, feature design, code reviews, sprint planning, release planning, and technical discussions.
- Prepare clear technical documentation, design notes, and issue analysis when required.

- The following experience is not required, but would be valuable:
- Experience with Node.js, Java, Java 17/OpenJDK, or back-end service development.
- Experience with UX/UI design practices or improving user workflows.
- Experience with cloud or customer-deployed web applications.
- Exposure to cybersecurity, authentication, user roles, or permissions management.
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD, test automation, Git, or software release/deployment tools.
- Experience working with firmware, SQA, hardware, or technical support teams.
- Pay: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
