Job Duties

You will join the Investment Specialist team of CIBC Personal and Business Banking Services. As an Investment Specialist, you will work closely with other CIBC branch employees to build lasting relationships with clients and provide them with sound investment planning advice to help them achieve their financial success. You will also help develop new client relationships by participating in business expansion activities within the branch community where you will work.

How to Succeed

• Client Engagement – Prioritize each client's experience and build a personal relationship so that every interaction is meaningful. Take advantage of the flexibility to meet your clients according to their schedule, thus fostering a relationship that suits their lifestyle. Collaborate with branch teams to improve relationships by providing clients with personalized investment advice and comprehensive financial planning support to help them achieve their financial goals.
• Business Development – Understand your local market and potential clientele, collaborate with other members of your branch team to develop a sales plan that will convert leads into stronger client relationships with CIBC. Use your strong relationship-building and networking skills to build relationships, create business opportunities, and achieve concrete results.
• Community Engagement – Raise the CIBC brand in your community by participating in local marketing and outreach activities. Build local relationships and collaborate with community organizations to have a positive impact. Expand your network while creating lasting connections that will bring future opportunities.

• You are a licensed professional. You have a current and valid license in mutual funds (successful completion of the Securities Course or the Canadian Investment Funds Course). During your first year in this role, you will need to do the following: Obtain the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) or Retirement Counselor (RC – for Quebec employees only) designation. Obtaining the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, or completing the IQPF training, will also satisfy this requirement.
