RTE / Senior Project Manager

As part of a major digital transformation, our client wants to replace the current RTE role with a more hybrid profile, capable not only of orchestrating an Agile Release Train, but also of taking on the concrete delivery of complex projects, including the development and integration of enterprise software in asset management.
Functions and Responsibilities
Agile Leadership at Scale (RTE)
- Lead and orchestrate an Agile Release Train involving multiple teams (10+ teams / 100+ people)
- Plan, prepare, and facilitate PI Planning (including risk management ROAM and goal alignment)
- Ensure inter-team coordination and proactive management of critical dependencies
- Establish and track performance metrics (predictability, velocity, cycle time, PI goal achievement)
- Facilitate cross-team ceremonies (Scrum of Scrums, Inspect & Adapt)
- Project Management / Concrete Delivery
- Take ownership of development and integration projects (including enterprise software)
- Ensure detailed planning, budget tracking, and project risk management
- Collaborate closely with architecture, integration teams, and external partners
- Guarantee end-to-end delivery (scope, timelines, quality, business value)
- Manage challenges related to complex environments (Cloud, application integrations, legacy systems)
- Continuous Improvement & Performance
- Structure and optimize delivery flows (e.g., implement Program Kanban, improve throughput)
- Identify and reduce critical dependencies between teams
- Stabilize delivery predictability and improve time-to-market
- Coach teams (Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Product Managers)
- Business Relationship & Governance
- Translate technical concerns into business decisions for leadership
- Participate in governance (Lean budgets, prioritization, capacity allocation)
- Ensure constant alignment between IT objectives and business priorities
- Interact with executive stakeholders in regulated environments
- Required Qualifications to Succeed in This Role
Experience
- Minimum 10–15 years in IT, including significant experience in: RTE or Agile leadership at scale
- Complex project management (ideally in development and integration of solutions)
- Experience in complex and regulated environments (finance, insurance, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in enterprise software integration (major asset – e.g., asset management)
- Key Skills
- Strong ability to structure complex multi-team environments
- Excellent mastery of SAFe and Lean-Agile practices at scale
- Demonstrated ability to improve delivery performance (predictability, throughput, quality)
- Very good understanding of technical concerns (Cloud, DevOps, integration, CRM, etc.)
- Leadership, influence, and executive communication
- Certifications (Asset)
- SAFe (RTE, SPC, or Agilist)
- Scrum Master / Agile certifications
Role Positioning (Important)
- This role is not a “pure” RTE:
- It combines strategic orchestration (ART) + concrete delivery responsibility
- It requires a profile capable of diving into delivery, not just facilitating
- It acts as a pivot between governance, teams, and critical projects

CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, as well as professional licenses and certifications. Salary decisions depend on the particularities of each case. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $70,000 and $130,000. This position is open.
