What is the opportunity?

As a Branch Director, Financial Advisor, you fill a hybrid essential role within the branch, spending 40 to 50% of your time providing financial advice to clients and 50 to 75% in a general management leadership role. As a local market leader, you are responsible for the performance of retail business within a growth-oriented branch, including acquiring new clients and improving RBC's ability to acquire and deepen relationships with clients. As a financial advisor, you possess extensive expertise in banking services, investments, and everyday credit, with the ability to deliver a strong advisory experience on complex personal and business needs.

What will your tasks be?

  • Manage a team that delivers an exceptional customer experience by leading with advice and leveraging all of RBC's capabilities to provide appropriate solutions to meet our clients' needs and financial situation.
  • Promote digital enablement by proactively educating our clients on self-service, leading with advice, serving digitally where possible, and encouraging our clients to interact with us in their preferred channel.
  • Lead your team forward by actively engaging clients inside and outside the branch, providing complex advisory solutions, and modeling key behaviors by emphasizing teamwork to meet our clients' needs.
  • Stay locally connected and active in your community, effectively motivating your team and RBC partners to proactively connect with clients and influencers.
  • Strategically manage team capacity by leveraging advisors' skills and capabilities, mobility, and understanding of weekly and monthly turnover to drive client contacts.
  • Role model, coach, and champion of our leadership model. Consistently demonstrate empathy, kindness, and take the time to understand the circumstances, motivators, and concerns in all interactions with employees, colleagues, and clients.

  • What do you need to succeed?

Requirements

  • Valid mutual fund certification (Canadian Investment Funds or Canadian Securities Course)
  • Completion of the General Management Compliance Agent course offered by the Canadian Securities Institute, or ability to pass an exam within 4 months of the start date.
  • Entrepreneurial business acquisition mindset
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will serve both French and English-speaking clients.

Assets

  • Experience in banking services for businesses and individuals.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a people management role.
  • Certification of Completion – Personal Finances, offered by the Canadian Securities Institute (i.e. Personal Finance Fundamentals – Quebec, Investment and Taxation Fundamentals – Quebec, Insurance and Retirement – Quebec).
