What is the role about?
As an Expert Banking Services Advisor at RBC, you attract high-net-worth personal and small business clients and build and develop client relationships by creating value at key moments in their lives. You provide proactive and professional advice to our clients and, in collaboration with RBC partners, help clients achieve their goals and meet their needs during important life events. As an expert advisor, you possess extensive expertise in the areas of banking services, investments, and credit and are able to offer quality advisory experiences that meet the complex needs of clients, both personal and small business.
What will your tasks be?
- Demonstrate empathy and kindness in all interactions with colleagues and clients and take the time to understand their reality, motivations, and concerns.
- Communicate effectively to understand client needs, provide targeted advice and solutions, and proactively address their concerns at first contact.
- Use your advisory skills and those of your key RBC ecosystem partners to meet the full range of clients' financial needs, both personal and small business.
- Provide professional advice to clients and inform them, and demonstrate the ability to meet complex credit and investment needs, ensuring that the solutions provided are tailored to clients' needs and financial situation.
- Promote client digital enablement by proactively informing them about self-service options while guiding them with advice, recommending digital services, and inviting them to engage with us in the way of their choice.
- Make good use of technology to communicate with clients, both virtually and in person.
- Implement effective customer contact and relationship-building strategies that accelerate the acquisition and retention of new clients in your community.
- Collaborate with top professionals in the fields of financial planning, retirement planning, and mortgage lending, as well as banking services experts, so that clients can benefit from personalized and relevant advice from experts.
- What is required to succeed?
Essential Skills
- Valid mutual fund license (from either the Investment Funds in Canada course or the Securities Trading in Canada course)
- Certification of completion - Personal Finance from CSI (i.e. the following three courses: Financial Planning Principles - Quebec, Investments and Taxation - Quebec, and Insurance and Retirement - Quebec)
- One to two years of practical experience in the financial services sector, including credit and investment management
- Proven ability to establish and maintain long-term trust-based relationships with clients
- Knowledge of a wide range of digital devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.)
