The Opportunity

As a Senior Tax Professional, you will be part of our Global Tax Observation and Reporting (GTOR) group. In this role, you will ensure the development of the technical skills and connectivity needed to solve clients' problems and become a well-rounded, quality-oriented tax professional. As a member of EY's GTOR group, you will gain in-depth knowledge of taxation, as well as a keen understanding of operational factors to best serve your clients.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Tax Professional, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax observation and tax provision services offered to clients. You will work with competent and creative professionals who stand out for their customer service focus and guide their efforts.

• Provide tax services to Canadian companies, including tax accounting services, tax provision review services, and corporate income tax return services.
• Prepare tax correspondence.
• Assist our clients in the audit of their tax accounts with various tax authorities.
• Build relationships with clients and gain a solid understanding of their business.
• Deepen your technical skills by staying up-to-date with trends, new facts, and tax authority decisions, and apply them to moderately complex situations.
• Identify opportunities for providing tax planning services and other special services.
• Plan, organize, and execute tax planning engagements for Canadian companies.
• Support the development and mentoring of less experienced tax professionals and other team members.
• Participate and contribute to the achievement of the team's goals.

Skills and Qualities for Success

• A strong interest in acquiring new knowledge in Canadian taxation;
• A desire to work in a learning environment;
• Proficiency in Office suite software;
• Excellent organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to work with team members to ensure the rapid delivery of exceptional customer service;
• This role involves interactions with clients and professionals internally and externally at the national and global levels. Proficiency in both French and English is an asset.

Ideally, you also have

• A bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in accounting or a related discipline;
• Two to four years of relevant experience in taxation or accounting;
• Equivalent experience in business or industry;
• Mature, proactive attitude, sense of commitment, strong motivation, and excellent team spirit.
