Internship Description

We are looking for a motivated and curious intern to join our digital development team. You will have the opportunity to contribute to concrete projects related to our web applications, APIs, and internal tools, in a technologically evolving environment using Java, Quarkus, Vue.js 3, TypeScript, Vite, GitHub Actions, and OpenShift.

Your Missions: Participate in the analysis, design, and development of new web and API features

  • Fix bugs and improve existing features
  • Write clean, maintainable, and documented code
  • Participate in team meetings and code reviews
  • Get familiar with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices used in the team
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tools and processes
  • Technical Skills Sought:
  • Knowledge of Java and interest in backend development with Quarkus or Spring Boot
  • Basic knowledge of modern web development with Vue.js 3, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Vite

Knowledge of REST APIs, relational or NoSQL databases, and principles of cloud-native application development

Prior experience with Git, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift is a plus.

Qualifications of Sought Resources

College or university student in software development, computer engineering, or related field;

Internship within a recognized program (AEC, DEC, bachelor's, or master's);

Supervision

The intern will be supervised and guided by an analyst from the digital team. The analyst will be responsible for assigning and supporting the intern in the completion of their tasks.

Internship Duration

The internship will take place from September 2026 to December 2026.

Work Location and Schedule

The SAQ offices are located at 7501 rue Tellier in Montreal. The intern will be required to work in administrative offices or remotely. Depending on the nature of the work to be completed, the employer may require in-person attendance for the completion of certain tasks or for the attendance of various meetings.

The regular work schedule is 35 hours, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through

Thursday and from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Fridays.

Compensation

The intern will be compensated according to the agreements set forth in the collective agreement in effect at the SAQ.

Work Tools

For information security reasons, the SAQ will provide the intern with a computer equipped with all the necessary software and technical tools. The computer must be used solely for the purpose of completing the internship. At the end of the internship, the intern must return the computer to the SAQ, along with all the data contained on it. If the intern is working remotely, they must provide an appropriate connection for the effective use of the computer and the tools provided by the SAQ.

The intern must follow the guidelines provided to them regarding the use of the SAQ's equipment and software.
