Position Overview

Calian is currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for the medical clinic at the Valcartier base on full-time contracts. Enjoy an environment that allows for exceptional work-life balance, emphasizing quality care within a multidisciplinary team of civilians and military personnel.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) performs various laboratory analyses to assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, treating, and preventing diseases. These analyses may include biochemical, hematological, and immunological tests. The MLT receives patients without appointments.

Qualifications

• Hold a Medical Laboratory Technologist certificate issued by the Canadian Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, and a practice permit or registration certificate issued by the provincial (except Quebec) or territorial regulatory body where they practice (if applicable); and
• The certification is accepted in most of the country, except for Quebec (which does not require certification). In fact, certification is the entry-level requirement for Medical Laboratory Technologists in all regulated provinces (AB, SK, NL, MB, ON, NB, and NS).
• Hold a Basic Life Support in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate for healthcare providers or equivalent, such as a Basic Life Support in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C certificate.
