Develop and implement a strategic plan to follow when deploying databases within their organization

Design and update computer databases

Document client requirements for their projects

Document reporting needs, queries, logic, results, and recommendations for other information systems professionals

Enforce measures to ensure unauthorized users cannot access data

Ensure liaison with staff regarding requirements, data collection, and availability

Advise other IT professionals on database management tools

Set up IT infrastructure to allow applications to access databases

Test data models and database management systems

Design and develop database architecture

Operate database management systems to analyze data

Develop and implement data policies, standards, and management models

Study and document data requirements, their collection and administration policies, and access rules

Develop network usage and access policies, and data backup and restoration procedures

Lead and coordinate data administrator teams to develop and implement data policies, standards, and models

Write scripts related to stored procedures and triggers
