Bakery Clerk

Job Overview

You will assist in daily bakery operations, ensure the freshness and presentation of baked goods, and provide exceptional customer service. Your passion for food and attention to detail will contribute to a warm, welcoming environment that keeps customers coming back for more.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with selecting baked goods, answering questions about products and ingredients
• Prepare and package baked items with precision, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery display cases, shelves, and work areas in compliance with food safety standards
• Restock shelves regularly to ensure a fresh and appealing selection of products is available at all times
• Handle food preparation tasks including slicing, wrapping, and packaging baked goods efficiently
• Support kitchen operations by assisting in food handling, baking processes, and basic cooking tasks as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in food handling
• Knowledge of baking techniques and food safety practices is highly desirable
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting boxes or trays of baked goods
• Experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen work is an asset
• Familiarity with the food industry standards for hygiene and safety regulations
• Willingness to learn new skills related to baking, packaging, and food presentation
• Pay: From $19.00 per hour
