The role we are offering you:

By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to join our new *Data Platform and Artificial Intelligence* department within our team of data specialists and engineers. You will be able to participate in the implementation and evolution of CAE's data strategy to improve services and develop new products while relying on this data. Are you ready to:

  • Assemble complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional operational requirements.
  • Define, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data transmission, redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Develop analytical tools that use the data pipeline to provide applicable insights in customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key operational performance measures.
  • Maintain data separated and secure across national borders through multiple data centers.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to achieve better functionality of our data systems.
  • Be a key contributor to the transformation of the company.

*English proficiency is required for this position, as it involves participation in international meetings and projects, as well as interactions with colleagues or clients located in other provinces or countries.*

The passionate candidate we are looking for has

  • Strong knowledge of French and English, both written and spoken
  • Experience working with data, coding, and script creation... and experience with Microsoft cloud services: Azure, Databrick, etc., is an asset.
  • Experience in the development and administration of large data systems.
  • Experience using big data processing tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, is an asset
  • Experience using relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server and CosmosDb, is an asset
  • Experience using automated data pipelines and workflow management tools: DevOps, ARM, Data Factory, Airflow.
  • Experience using cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, Databrick.
  • Experience using stream processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming.

Desired education

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or any related field.
  • The internship location is at CAE Montreal.

The internship will be conducted in a hybrid mode.

  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and comply with the requirements of the Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP). All hired individuals will be required to complete, sign, and return the Controlled Goods Program form within the week following the offer. They will also need to provide a copy of their passport or birth certificate. All students holding a work permit must provide a copy and provide a clean record certificate from the countries where they have resided in the past 5 years.
  • Please note that if you hold a study, work, or international student permit, security verification delays may take up to 8 weeks.
  • *For all hired interns, we will reimburse the internship fees up to $250 per intern upon presentation of supporting documents.*
