Our family law team is expanding. We are looking for a legal technician to join our growing team. We are seeking a technician with demonstrated 2 years of experience in family law.
Tasks to be Performed
- Meet with clients.
- Prepare case files for trials or contested interim orders;
- Answer client calls;
- Occasionally replace the receptionist;
- Respond to client emails and answer their questions regarding their case;
- Draft legal procedures (introductory application, consent, affidavit, joint declaration, registration application, out-of-court interrogation notice)
- Analyze legal documents (registers, court files, etc.).
- Prepare legal correspondence and perform general office and clerk tasks.
- Assist lawyers in their cases
- Bill for legal services
- Desired Profile
- Hold a legal technician degree or a bachelor's degree in law
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in family law *(required)*
- Team spirit.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and meticulousness skills;
- Strong writing skills;
- Be self-sufficient;
- Bilingual French-English (an asset)
- Experience in youth protection and/or immigration (an asset)
