The Citizen Experiences and Partnerships team at Radio-Canada in Sherbrooke is looking for a Communications Agent. This permanent position will be based in Sherbrooke.

Your Mandate

Under the direction of the Citizen Experiences Manager, you are responsible for developing, coordinating, and operationalizing brand activations and events to position the Radio-Canada brand, maximize its reach, and strengthen its presence in the community and citizens' attachment to the public broadcaster.

Mainly, you will have to

  • Develop, plan, and operationalize innovative brand activations and event experiences in the Estrie region to generate interest and engagement from various publics towards the public broadcaster, its banners, and its products;
  • Participate in negotiations with partners, draft agreements, and ensure their follow-up and implementation;
  • Deploy and coordinate internal-external communication plans to ensure optimal visibility of various projects;
  • Prepare clear and strategic briefs and ensure understanding by stakeholders (field activations, ambassador briefs, etc.); collaborate with various communications teams (360-degree strategy, creative studio, etc.);
  • Participate in the conceptualization of brand activations in line with the mandate, development, and deployment of activations or major events;
  • Collaborate on event calendar planning, production schedules, coordinate all steps, conduct field surveys, and manage budgets;
  • Manage contests in connection with our partnerships (writing texts for various declinations (website, banners, social networks), writing contest rules, legal approvals, research, negotiation, and management of the prize, communications and visibility, and follow-up with winners and suppliers);
  • Collaborate on press relations by writing press releases and ensuring their distribution;
  • Support program and technical teams in the development of emission releases within the framework of citizen activities and partnerships;
  • Coordinate the need for ambassadors according to partnership and/or citizen experience activities, train and supervise them;
  • Collaborate on the performance evaluation process of deployed solutions to identify improvement opportunities;
  • Regularly evaluate the performance of activities, conduct post-mortem follow-ups, and optimize results;
  • Manage and respond to the partnerships email inbox;
  • Support various event-based and cultural mediation operations as needed.

This position is a combination of remote work and office presence. Work modalities will be discussed with hiring managers according to guidelines determined by the sector.

Desired Profile:

Qualifications

  • University degree, or equivalent significant experience, in communications, advertising, marketing, or a related field;
  • Three (3) years of experience in similar positions.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Radio-Canada, its mandate, and its programming;
  • Excellent negotiation, planning, and organization skills;
  • Undeniable interest in event management, given the nature of the job and the conditions associated with it;
  • Leadership, autonomy, sound judgment, and initiative;
  • Strong ability to manage multiple files at once and resistance to stress;
  • Great creativity in designing events and promotional activities;
  • Team player, creative, solution-oriented, who can work under sometimes tight deadlines;
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Google Sheets, Google Calendar, Jira, and other relevant software;
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Good knowledge of the cultural environment in the Estrie region;
  • Experience and deep understanding of marketing principles and brand value;
  • Required availability for sometimes irregular working hours involving long working hours;
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.
