Under the supervision of the Head - System Design and Integration, the incumbent acts as a senior advisor in systems integration for the tramway project.

He/she is responsible for ensuring the technical and functional integration of the tramway's operation and mobility systems, including operational technologies, supporting IT platforms, network infrastructures, and associated cybersecurity requirements. In this capacity, he/she intervenes on systems under the direct responsibility of the RTC as well as systems delivered by external suppliers or partners.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Alignment and Coordination of Systems Integration Contributions

  • Ensure the alignment and technical and functional coordination of the various actors and teams involved in the design, implementation, and testing of the tramway's operation and mobility systems;
  • Coordinate the management of interfaces with internal teams, suppliers, and project partners to ensure a coherent and functional integration of the deployed solutions, all within the terms of the contractual agreements;
  • Clarify, document, and keep up-to-date the responsibilities of integration, deployment, and operation of the systems, in collaboration with the concerned stakeholders;
  • Identify, analyze, and follow up on risks and issues related to systems integration, and propose mitigation measures or alternatives, when required;
  • Provide support for the activities of system commissioning and post-deployment stabilization.
  • Technical Coordination, Project Collaboration, and Needs Understanding
  • Act as a reference and technical advisor in the field of tramway operational technologies, providing an overview of the systems, their interactions, and their role in operation;
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the needs related to the operation of the tramway systems, particularly in connection with the various intervenants, processes, and centralized control room (CCR) operation scenarios, and take them into account in integration and coordination activities;
  • Plan, lead, and drive interface workshops as well as technical synchronization workshops, including, if necessary, operational and operational needs workshops, to ensure the consistency and alignment of the tramway's operation and mobility systems;
  • Participate in interface and technical synchronization workshops with suppliers and represent the technical interests of the RTC's information technologies, in collaboration with the concerned stakeholders;
  • Collaborate closely with the project manager to ensure alignment between technical integration activities, needs, schedules, priorities, and project governance mechanisms;
  • Prepare, structure, and transmit to the Head - System Design and Integration analyses, findings, and recommendations related to technical, integration, or operation issues requiring arbitration or decision-making.

Support for Design and Architecture

  • Evaluate and validate the operational feasibility of design choices from the perspective of systems integration and their use in an operational context, particularly from the CCR;
  • Collaborate with architecture advisors to ensure that the proposed solutions are aligned with the RTC's norms, principles, and architecture targets, without substituting for their validation role;
  • Identify, analyze, and document the integration and operation impacts related to design decisions, and ensure their communication to the concerned project teams;
  • Participate in the review of design deliverables and coordinate the consolidation of comments from the various reviewers, paying particular attention to integration and operation issues of the systems.

Integration Testing and Operational Preparation

  • Plan and drive integration tests (unit, integrated, end-to-end);
  • Ensure the consistency of multisystem test scenarios;
  • Contribute to the preparation of commissioning and the transition to operation.

PROFILE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, automation, industrial engineering oriented towards systems and operation, or another relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of studies and experience
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in the integration of complex technological systems
  • Experience in operational technologies (OT) or critical systems
  • Experience in multisystem and multifaceted supplier technical coordination
  • Good knowledge of network environments, IT/OT, and cybersecurity issues
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis, and communication skills
  • Skill in establishing interpersonal relationships that foster collaboration
  • Ability to communicate, prepare, and present substantial dossiers
  • Good tolerance for ambiguity and ability to understand the various issues of multiple stakeholders
  • Good ability to understand and manage complex technical issues
  • Knowledge of the public transportation domain, an asset
  • Knowledge of the railway transportation domain, an asset
