This position at the RBC Insurance Advice Centre offers you the best of both worlds. RBC Insurance provides you with the flexibility you need in your personal life and the satisfaction you expect from your work.

We will provide you with the tools, training, and support needed to obtain the Quebec Insurance Damage Representative Certificate issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) and the Ontario and other provinces' non-life insurance sales permit.

As a Customer Service and Sales Advisor (Authorized Insurance Advisor for Auto and Home Insurance), you will be the voice on the other end of the line, offering advice and insurance options to help clients protect what matters most to them. Empathetic, friendly, and courteous, you will provide clear and transparent insurance advice. You will demonstrate curiosity, attention, and a keen sense of detail in every conversation, striving to resolve issues and provide an exceptional customer experience. You will contribute to achieving individual and team sales goals by proactively recommending auto and home insurance solutions to new and existing clients and referring them to your partners within the company.

What will your tasks be?

  • Answer incoming calls, offer tailored insurance advice and solutions to meet clients' needs.
  • Provide a consistent and positive customer experience in every conversation and answer clients' questions at the first point of contact, building relationships through constructive exchanges.
  • Conduct personalized needs assessments and use the tools, resources, and calculators at your disposal to demonstrate the value and soundness of your advice.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of regulatory risk when preparing or modifying auto and home insurance policies.
  • Follow procedures efficiently and transparently during conversations with clients.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with partners to work together at RBC as one team.
  • What do you need to succeed?

Requirements

  • Desire and ability to obtain the Quebec Insurance Damage Representative Certificate issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) and the Ontario and other provinces' non-life insurance sales permit.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will serve both French and English-speaking clients.
  • High level of reading, understanding, and oral expression in both required languages.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to build strong relationships and connect with clients.
  • Ability to work any shift during business hours. The Auto and Home Insurance Advice Centre is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of digital service devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.).

Desired Assets

  • Hold the Insurance Damage Representative Certificate issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers at the time of application.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Knowledge of insurance products.
  • Experience in customer service or sales in a contact center.
