As a member of the Digital Development team, you will work closely with the E-commerce and Product teams to develop backend systems that drive a modern mobile e-commerce application ecosystem. As an experienced Senior Software Engineer I, you will lead the development of features, mentor junior engineers, and influence the architecture for essential services serving millions of customers in the GARAGE and DYNAMITE applications.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within an agile team to develop new features and maintain existing ones using Node.js, .NET Framework, React Native, Salesforce Commerce Cloud (OCAPI and SCAPI), and Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run functions and Firebase);
- Improve our backend-for-frontend (BFF) services using NestJS and GraphQL to enable multiple use cases across disparate e-commerce backend systems;
- Create automated tests that will serve as living documentation for business requirements to protect against future regressions;
- Regularly contribute to the team's Confluence space to document ongoing changes;
- Take ownership of future architecture development to automate more steps, reduce friction points, and improve access and control for enterprise users;
- Contribute to a growth culture through code reviews, pair programming, brainstorming, and knowledge-sharing sessions;
- Take ownership of the solution, monitoring it post-launch and identifying areas of concern as well as reasons to celebrate;
- Communicate effectively with product managers, developers, and QA resources to align on processes and improve them;
- Fully own the delivery of complex epics, from technical design to production follow-up;
- Improve the extensibility, resilience, and observability of backend services;
- Lead design reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions;
- Coach and mentor Engineers at levels I, II, and III, providing constructive feedback;
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and UX teams to clarify requirements and estimate scope;
- Promote best practices in engineering (coding standards, security, testing, DevOps);
- Leverage AI-based tools in daily development, demonstrating both mastery and passion for using AI to generate value, whether through code development, code reviews, or debugging, etc.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development within agile Product teams, ideally serving a large customer base;
- At least 5 years of experience extending software applications using .NET Framework or Java;
- At least 4 years of experience creating integrations using RESTful APIs;
- Expertise in .NET and Node.js/TypeScript with production cloud deployments (GCP, AWS, or Azure);
- Deep understanding of distributed system patterns, API versioning, and data modeling;
- Proven experience in improving team velocity and code quality through reviews and tools;
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Knowledge of modern development processes accelerated by AI-based tools.
Assets
- Experience in application development using SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Postgres);
- Experience in content management system development (Optimizely, Sitecore, and Sitefinity);
- Experience with e-commerce platforms (Salesforce, Adobe, SAP, and Oracle);
- Experience with the following application technologies and frameworks:
- + Kubernetes;
- + Serverless computing;
- + Frontend libraries, particularly React (Vue, Angular, and Svelte are also assets);
- + React or React Native;
+ Experience with AI-powered workspace tools (Cursor, Claude, Codex, Windsurf, etc.).
- Knowledge of the retail and e-commerce domain, order management, or loyalty systems.
