IT Infrastructure Chief Architect

Aliments Sofina Inc. is currently seeking an IT Infrastructure Chief Architect. Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure, this role is the principal technical leader responsible for the design, security, reliability, and operations of the IT infrastructure. Acting as the ultimate technical escalation point, they ensure the availability, resilience, and performance of critical platforms supporting business and manufacturing activities. While contributing to long-term architecture and roadmap planning, the role remains highly operational and concrete, translating business needs into secure and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for the company's infrastructure and security, ensuring practical administration and architectural leadership in on-site and cloud environments.
• Design, document, implement, and maintain secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure and network architectures aligned with business and manufacturing priorities.
• Manage, monitor, and provide operational support for platforms such as Azure, Microsoft 365, identity services, networks, virtualization, backups, and firewalls.
• Design, implement, and operate IT security controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
• Continuously assess the state of the infrastructure and security, identifying risks, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations.
• Provide infrastructure leadership for manufacturing and OT (Operational Technology) environments, including secure network segmentation and resilient system connectivity in the plant.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex and high-impact infrastructure incidents, leading root cause analyses and long-term fixes.
• Lead and participate in RFI/RFP processes related to infrastructure, including requirements definition, technical evaluation, and vendor selection.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
• Required Qualifications
• Hold a college or university degree in information technology or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Have more than 7 years of experience in infrastructure administration within a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent expertise in networking and infrastructure, including LAN/WAN/SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPN/DMZ, and virtualization.
• Advanced practical experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, and hybrid Active Directory environments.
• Strong understanding of best practices in infrastructure and cybersecurity, including Zero Trust approaches, least privilege access, and network segmentation.
• Experience with monitoring and performance tools, including dashboards, alerts, and hybrid environment visibility.
• Demonstrated experience in backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity in high-availability environments.
• Strong experience in Windows server administration; practical knowledge of Linux/Unix is an asset.
• Experience in scripting and automation (PowerShell preferred; Bash or Python considered assets).
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CISSP, Microsoft/Azure) are an asset.
• Bilingualism required, French and English.
