RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Head of the Traditional and Special Construction Teams, the IT Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and evolving the various IT systems and networks deployed on the company's infrastructure.
They will be called upon to collaborate with their SIT colleagues in defining requirements, guiding technological evolutions, planning, and prioritizing activities that impact the IT infrastructure and the systems within it, all to contribute to improving the company's quality and competitiveness.
More concretely, the person will have to:
- Establish, implement, and support the technological infrastructure architecture, including cybersecurity controls, within the framework of special construction projects;
- Monitor the daily activity of servers and networks on our construction sites to detect anomalies and intervene quickly;
- Manage servers, storage, and switches on our construction sites;
- Ensure security updates, testing, and regular verification routines for our construction operations;
- Provide expert support for system, network, and infrastructure issues on our construction sites;
- Assume, jointly with the Infrastructure team, the establishment and evolution of the technological architecture of the construction sites;
- Collaborate on the implementation and deployment of technological projects and support the integration between systems on our construction sites;
- Keep the system documentation up to date according to the standards in place;
- Maintain good communication between the IT team and the clients;
- Master the processes, procedures, and work methods in place;
- Act as a technical mentor to the Operations IT Construction Teams.
REQUIREMENTS
- Holder of a college diploma (DEC) in computer science (or other relevant combination of education and experience);
- Five (5) years of experience in IT systems administration;
- Knowledge of best practices and ITIL methodologies (an asset);
- Be flexible to work outside normal working hours, if necessary;
- Be available for occasional travel to different EBC offices and construction sites across Canada;
- Ability to communicate well in both English and French, both orally and in writing, to communicate with different stakeholders;
- Be eligible for a security clearance. - Technical knowledge required:
- Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows server, 2016 to 2025;
- Domain administration with Active Directory;
- DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, SSL/TLS, IIS, WSUS, NPS;
- Good knowledge of PowerShell;
- Backup solutions (Veem, Commvault, etc.);
- Mastery of network and system monitoring tools (Example: PRTG);
- Protocols and network architectures (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN, Site-To-Site VPN);
- Good knowledge of Unifi, Cisco, Palo-Alto, Checkpoint, and Meraki products;
- Cybersecurity environments and solutions (Examples: Crowdstrike, TendMicro, SentinelOne, Barracuda, Microsoft Defender);
- O365 environment management (Microsoft Lighthouse, Sharepoint online, Exchange online, Teams etc.);
- M365 cloud security management (MFA, Conditional Access, etc.);
- Deployment and administration of technological systems.
