Alta Equipment Group is Hiring a Full-Time Parts Clerk for Our Material Handling Group at Our Quebec Location in Quebec. The Main Responsibilities of the Position Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Process parts purchases and sales
- Actively sell parts and request sales
- Ensure profit levels meet departmental goals
- Ensure customer satisfaction, including internal customers
- Control, unpack, and shelve delivered parts
- Pick, pack, and prepare parts for delivery
- Maintain order and cleanliness in the department
- Participate in physical inventories
- Incorporate Alta's guiding principles into daily activities
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- Ensure constant, regular, and reliable presence, including being ready to work on time
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in the parts field is desirable
- Bilingual French and English (optional)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism required
- Understanding of gross and net profit margins
- Good telephone etiquette
- Basic mechanical understanding and ability to visually identify and name parts of equipment related to the industry
- Computer programs - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Epicor/Silk systems, supplier web portals
- Language skills - basic: ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and service notes. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information effectively in individual or small group situations, to clients and other employees of the organization
- Basic math skills: ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide by 10 and 100. Ability to perform these operations using US monetary units and measures of weight, volume, and distance
- Reasoning ability - elementary: ability to use common sense to carry out detailed but not complex written or oral instructions. Ability to handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Physical/sensory functions: The candidate must regularly use their hands, speak/hear; they must frequently sit; they must occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Vision: See near and far, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and see colors
- Lifting and/or moving functions: Often, lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally, lift between 26 and over 100 pounds
- Work environment: Occasionally, work near moving mechanical parts
