Network Security Specialist

Job Overview:

Genetec is looking for a Network Security Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will help define, implement, monitor, and continuously improve the architecture of our network security controls across perimeter, internal segmentation, cloud, and identity-aware access layers. You will work closely with network, security, infrastructure, and identity teams to design secure network patterns, monitor their effectiveness, and implement controls that support Zero Trust principles while ensuring the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of our infrastructure.

Your day at a glance: Network Security Architecture & Control Design

• Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of network security architectures across perimeter, internal segmentation, cloud connectivity, and third-party access boundaries
• Define and implement identity-aware network access patterns, including SASE, SSE, ZTNA, and user/device-based access controls
• Translate least-privilege and Zero Trust principles into practical network segmentation designs, traffic flows, and enforceable security policies
• Architect, implement, and optimize firewall and network security configurations across Palo Alto NGFW and other security platforms
• Establish reference architectures, design standards, and documentation for network topology, segmentation models, and rule change history
• Monitor and review firewall and network access policies to identify overly permissive entries, shadowed rules, unused policies, and architectural drift; implement remediation through the change management process
• Identity & Access Controls
• Implement and maintain network-level identity controls including user and device-based segmentation policies
• Work with the IT and Security teams to enforce conditional access policies at the network perimeter and VPN gateways
• Support privileged access management (PAM) integrations at the network boundary
• Define and maintain role-based network access profiles aligned to organizational departments and risk class

What makes you an excellent candidate

• 5 years of practical experience in network security administration or a combined network and security role
• Proven experience in managing enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto Networks strongly preferred)
• Practical knowledge of network identity controls: 802.1X, RADIUS, group-based LDAP/AD policies, PKI infrastructure
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP protocol, VLANs, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), and network segmentation principles
• Knowledge of VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL/TLS), remote access security, and zero-trust network access concepts
• Experience in incident management and post-incident analysis
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret packet captures and firewall logs
• Proficiency in both French and English, both spoken and written (this role requires interactions with our international colleagues and clients)

Bonus if you have

• Experience in an ISV (Independent Software Vendor) environment specializing in software or physical security
• Knowledge of cloud network security (Azure Virtual Network, NSG, private endpoints, Azure Firewall)
• Experience with network detection and response (NDR) or SIEM platforms (Sentinel, Splunk)
• PCNSE, CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification
