Senior Human Resources Manager
Professional servicesDescription
Recruitment, employee development, and human resource management DEPATIE BEAUCHEMIN / HOODI GROUP · QUEBEC · FULL-TIME · ON-SITE
As the Senior Human Resources Manager at the Depatie Beauchemin / Hoodi Group, you will establish the first HR function within the organization. You will oversee the entire employee management cycle, from recruitment and integration to skill development and employee relations.
About the Depatie Beauchemin / Hoodi Group
The Group brings together two complementary companies. Depatie Beauchemin Consultants (DBC) is a Quebec-based engineering firm specializing in building sciences, serving condominium boards across Quebec. Hoodi supports small condominiums in their compliance with Law 16 (reserve fund studies and maintenance ledgers) and develops a digital platform for condominium boards and property managers.
Together, we form a team of approximately 35 people, including engineers, technologists, and developers.
Our organization has experienced rapid growth. In the coming months, we plan to welcome nearly twelve new colleagues. Structuring our human resources approach is now a priority: this is the mandate we would like to entrust to you.
A Founding Mandate
You are the first dedicated human resources professional within the Group. There is no department to integrate or inherited processes to continue: you start with what exists and build what needs to exist. This is a generalist, action-oriented, and implementation-focused role rather than a strictly strategic one.
Work Mode
On-site at our Quebec office.
Office 240 – 214 Saint-Sacrement Avenue, Quebec G1N 3X6
Your Responsibilities
- Complete Recruitment — drafting job descriptions, job postings, candidate search, pre-selection, interview coordination, and hiring recommendations.
- New Employee Integration — coordinating the welcome with team leaders to ensure each recruit is quickly operational and well-integrated.
- Skill and Individual Goal Tracking — setting up tools and meetings to allow managers and employees to have structured and regular development conversations.
- Employee Relations — acting as a trusted resource person and contributing to preventing and resolving difficult situations.
- HR Structure and Documentation — establishing the operational foundations: processes, tools, dashboards, and employee files.
- The Desired Profile
- *What We Expect From You*
- Comfort in a Structuring Environment. You enjoy creating processes as much as applying them, without waiting for an already-established framework.
- Balance Between Rigor and Relationship Skills. You build trust with employees while maintaining the rigor necessary for sound HR management.
- Ability to Prioritize Independently. You distinguish the urgent from the important and move projects forward with judgment, without waiting for everything to be perfect.
- Clear Communication. You follow up, announce news with transparency, and confirm agreements in writing.
- Discernment and Confidentiality. You protect sensitive information while providing managers with the information they need to lead their teams.
- *The Requirements*
- Human Resources training (DEC, bachelor's degree, or equivalent recognized).
- Practical experience in recruitment, from job postings to final offer.
- Operational autonomy: managing multiple files simultaneously without constant supervision.
- Excellent French both orally and in writing; functional English considered an asset.
- *The Assets*
- Knowledge or interest in our fields of activity (building engineering, applied technologies); otherwise, these concepts can be quickly acquired.
- Mastery of HR tools; failing that, good management reflexes allowing for quick learning.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in human resources, ideally in SMEs or startup contexts, particularly as the sole HR resource or within a very small team.

- 3 or 4 weeks of vacation (depending on experience) and 10 sick days per year.
