Mission: The MCE performs particular and strategic functions in the governance of the state. It is primarily responsible for supporting the decision-making of government bodies. It performs, in this regard, the tasks of analysis, advice and coordination for the Premier and the Council of Ministers. The Ministry is also responsible for certain mandates entrusted by the government and coordinates government communication.

Mandate: The Governmental Communication Secretariat ensures the consistency of communication activities of ministries and organizations. It promotes the sharing of good practices and the pooling of resources to optimize public investment.

In a desire for consistency and efficiency of government communication, the Digital Communications Department (DCN) has the mandate, among others, to develop, manage and evolve Quebec.ca, the platform for accessing government services and information.

Your challenges

  • Produce and develop visuals and mockups for the Governmental Design System (GDS) and Quebec.ca;
  • Ensure the consistency and quality of interfaces in relation to web best practices, user experience principles, established standards and the GDS;
  • Document design decisions, specifications and graphic standards to ensure the longevity of designs and facilitate collaboration;
  • Collaborate closely with UX advisors, UX/UI designers, project managers and developers;
  • Monitor tools, trends and best practices in design, including in artificial intelligence, and evaluate their potential application to improve team practices.
  • Compensation, hours and working conditions:

The minimum hourly rate is $27.19* and a 6.5% surcharge is added to this rate to compensate for certain social benefits.

In addition to working during the day, Monday to Friday, the job allows for a flexible schedule, favoring the reconciliation between work, studies and personal life, with adapted hours:

  • Regular schedule of a maximum of 14 hours/week during study sessions;
  • Schedule of a maximum of 21 hours/week during reading weeks;
  • Schedule of a maximum of 35 hours/week during the summer period and the Christmas break.

Under certain conditions, the duration of your student job could be extended.

  • Be enrolled in full-time (or part-time if it is your penultimate or final session) studies for the fall 2026 session at an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, and this, in one of the following fields of study:

+ Bachelor's or Master's – Graphic design, Graphic communication, Interface design, multimedia.

  • Possess Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or a study permit issued by the competent federal authority.
  • Have appropriate French language skills for the functions.

Desired skills

  • Good knowledge of UX practices;
  • Proficiency in the Figma mockup software;
  • Experience in interface design;
  • Ability and ease of working in a team;
  • Autonomy, meticulousness and rigor in the performance of mandates.
