The Project Manager, IT, leads and is responsible for the complete implementation of complex technological initiatives, at the company level and often spanning several years. This role oversees projects with significant organizational impact, including digital transformation programs, enterprise application deployments, infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity initiatives, and inter-functional technological integrations.

The person holding the position acts with great autonomy, demonstrates expert judgment, and influences decisions at all levels of the organization. The role requires advanced technical knowledge, strong risk management capabilities, and the ability to lead diverse teams in uncertain and rapidly changing contexts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Leadership and Governance
  • Lead medium to large-scale IT projects and programs aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities.
  • Apply the governance structures defined by the project management office, as well as decision-making frameworks and escalation mechanisms.
  • Advise senior management on project feasibility, resource strategies, and alignment of technological solutions with business objectives.
  • Project and Portfolio Management
  • Manage multiple projects with complex interdependencies, involving multidisciplinary teams, external vendors, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee detailed project planning (scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, risk management).
  • Ensure deliverables meet high standards of quality, security, and compliance.
  • Risks, Compliance, and Financial Responsibility
  • Assume responsibility for project budgets, including forecasts, cost-benefit analyses, and financial tracking.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate complex technical, operational, and organizational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, cybersecurity standards, personal information protection laws, and audit requirements.
  • Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including developers, analysts, architects, cybersecurity specialists, and external consultants.
  • Provide performance feedback to hierarchical managers.
  • Communicate at the executive level by presenting project status, risks, and recommendations to senior management and boards.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure contractual terms, service levels, and performance expectations are met.
  • Technical Expertise and Solution Delivery
  • Ensure solutions comply with established architecture standards.
  • Oversee testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance processes.
  • Lead implementation reviews to promote continuous improvement and knowledge transfer.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in IT project management, including the leadership of large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-million-dollar budgets and high-risk technological programs.
  • Experience in organizational change management and digital transformation.
  • Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Solid understanding of information systems, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-specialized audiences.
