Description

Crazybet is a young technology company in the iGaming sector. Our team, of human size, is evolving rapidly and operates in a collaborative mode, where each person has a real impact on the product and on how we work.

We are looking for an intermediate back-end developer, capable of taking charge of features and services autonomously, from requirement clarification to production follow-up. Depending on your experience and the scope of your responsibilities, the position can be intermediate or senior.

Your mandate

As an intermediate back-end developer, you participate in the development and maintenance of our back-end services. You work within an agile team, in close collaboration with other developers, project management, and stakeholders, to deliver reliable, performant, and well-designed features. You will actively participate in technical decisions and help the team improve its practices through collaboration and code reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve back-end services and APIs in TypeScript.
  • Work with transactional data in SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Diagnose issues, read application logs, and contribute to fixes.
  • Contribute to identifying and resolving technical issues (debugging, optimization, technical debt).
  • Collaborate with the rest of the team to clarify technical trade-offs and deliver maintainable solutions.
  • Document developments and technical decisions.
  • Collaborate with the team in an agile framework (Scrum): participation in rituals, estimation, and work breakdown.
  • Ensure quality and stability in production (testing, monitoring, fixes).
  • Participate in design and code reviews with a pragmatic judgment.

Desired profile

  • 5+ years of experience in a company
  • A university degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or a diploma or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Good bases in programming, data structures, and software design.
  • Very good mastery of TypeScript and Node.js, or equivalent experience.
  • Practical understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, and databases.
  • Familiarity with [tools/infra - ex.: Docker, CI/CD, cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), etc.].
  • A rigorous approach to testing, code readability, and version control with Git.
  • Good understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and trade-offs related to consistency and reliability.
  • The ability to debug methodically and make decisions based on production data.
  • The ability to work autonomously while clearly communicating risks, decisions, and blockers.
  • Technical curiosity and willingness to learn and progress, and the ability to evolve in a dynamic and changing environment.

You do not need to have used each of our tools. We value your technical judgment, production experience, and ability to learn more than a perfect match with a list of technologies.

Our technical environment

  • TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS
  • REST API and OpenAPI
  • PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Redis and BullMQ
  • Kafka and event systems
  • Microservices architecture
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Nx and pnpm
  • Jest, automated testing, observability, and production tracking

Location, languages & benefits

  • Fully remote position in Quebec (Canada)
  • Flexible hours favoring the reconciliation of work and personal life
  • Work environment based on autonomy, trust, and remote collaboration
  • Preference will be given to candidates from the Montreal area or nearby.
  • French is the main working language of the team.
  • Bilingualism in French-English is an asset; functional English is sufficient.

When applying, please add a few lines about a system or project you have taken charge of, the main technical trade-offs, and the results obtained.

We thank all applicants. Only selected candidates will be contacted.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Salary: $100,000 to $140,000 per year
