Our partner, a recognized company in the construction and metal transformation sector, is looking for a Metal Fabrication Technician for its Quebec plant. In a context where the plant manager requires increased support, you will be trained to take over from the current technician, who is being promoted.
Under the supervision of the plant manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the management team to achieve production goals. You will combine technical office work (drawing, programming) with hands-on floor work. This is the ideal position for an autonomous candidate with leadership, who wishes to invest in a structure offering real prospects for the future and stability.

Responsibilities
- As a Metal Fabrication Technician, your tasks will include:
- Interpreting technical plans and quotes to effectively handle fabrication requests.
- Creating fabrication drawings (DAO / CAO) and producing the necessary sketches for production.
- Programming cutting tables (FAO) and developing optimized cutting lists.
- Actively participating in continuous improvement projects and supporting the implementation of Lean methods.
- Managing the plant inventory and coordinating internal procurement.
- Collaborating closely with the foreman, team leaders, and site managers.
- Determining the strategic layout of parts during truck loading for shipment.
- Acting as a technical reference to answer production employees' questions.
- Ensuring rigorous tracking of schedules, work progress, and participating in production meetings.
Qualifications
- As a Metal Fabrication Technician, you will have the following skills:
- DEC in engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or a CDAO software
- 5 years of experience in metal fabrication, including hands-on experience in metal transformation (cutting, bending, welding, assembly)
- Good knowledge of continuous improvement tools (Kaizen, SMED, Kanban, 5S)
