As a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks, you will assist the store manager in carrying out the store's activities during your shifts. As a team leader, you will deploy partners and assign tasks to provide the Starbucks experience to customers by offering fast service, quality drinks and products, and keeping the store environment clean and pleasant. You will serve as a role model and act in accordance with Starbucks' guiding principles. Summary of Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities and key functions of the position include, without limitation, the following:
- Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote Starbucks' culture, values, and mission.
- Stay calm during high-traffic periods or unusual events to maintain normal performance while setting a good example for the team.
- Anticipate the needs of customers and the store by continuously evaluating the environment and customers to detect cues.
- Communicate with the store manager so that the team can act and create the third place during each shift.
- Participate in the training of new partners by positively reinforcing performance with respect and encouragement, as needed.
- Provide feedback to the store manager on the performance of partners during their shift.
- Contribute to a positive team spirit by recognizing warning signs and changes in team morale and performance and reporting them to the manager.
- Create a positive learning environment through clear, precise, respectful, and timely coaching and feedback to partners during the shift to achieve operational excellence and improve partner performance.
- Provide legendary service to customers by always prioritizing the customer and building a connection with them.
- Discover customer needs and meet them.
- Develop positive relationships with the team on the floor by understanding each person's motivations, concerns, and needs and addressing them.
- Perform store operations during scheduled shifts.
- Organize opening and closing tasks as assigned.
- Follow Starbucks' operational procedures and policies, including cash handling and health and safety at work to ensure partner safety during their shift.
- Follow cash and register handling policies and ensure that the team follows these practices.
- Monitor baristas during the shift to ensure legendary service to all customers.
- Be present and punctual regularly.
- Continuously produce quality drinks, ground coffee, and food for all customers by following established recipes and presentation standards.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Recognize and reinforce the achievements of each employee and the team using existing organizational tools and collaborate with the store manager to find new innovative and effective recognition methods.
- Use operational tools to achieve operational excellence during the shift.
Required Experience
- Retail or restaurant customer service: 1 year
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to manage staff
