- Foraspec is looking for a
- drill assistant
to join its teams. Our headquarters (and maintenance workshop) is located in Quebec City, and our drilling operations take place in urban and regional areas (across Quebec) requiring travel and stays outside. We are looking for a person with good physical resistance related to working outdoors in all types of temperatures and weather. Work weeks are often longer than 40 hours.
Responsibilities related to the position
- Prepare drilling equipment (augers, sampler, corer, pump, etc.);
- Assist the driller during drilling operations;
- Provide water supply during rock coring or casing installation;
- Perform minor maintenance of the drill rig and all drilling equipment;
- Clean the equipment;
- Transport and handle the drill rig;
- Install observation wells in the drill holes;
- Supply materials during observation well installation;
- Promote and apply the health and safety at work prevention program;
- Supply materials during observation well installation;
- Prepare daily reports and time sheets;
- Maintain an electronic "log book" for travel;
- Promote and apply the health and safety at work prevention program.

Requirements and training
- Experience in drilling or DEP in diamond drilling or drilling and blasting (asset);
- Experience in mechanics and hydraulics (asset);
- Ability to perform welding (asset);
- Hold a valid driver's license;
- ASP Construction card (asset);
- Be punctual, serious, and open to learning;
- Have good physical condition and enjoy working outdoors;
- Desire to become a driller (asset);
- Good teamwork skills.
