Project Controller
FinanceDescription
At A+, we bring architecture, engineering, design, project management, and construction together in a single integrated and high-performance ecosystem. Here, you never carry a project alone: from pre-construction to delivery, you work side by side with all the expertise, always towards the same goal. Together, we deliver projects faster, with less friction and more value.
Role Mission
At A+, project control goes far beyond the production of financial reports. You act as a true strategic partner to project teams. By following real-time financial performance, you ensure a clear view of the health of each mandate, reconcile data monthly, and transform numbers into useful information for decision-making. Your contribution allows us to anticipate deviations, optimize budgets, and support project managers in making informed decisions before issues become problems.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure financial control of a portfolio of projects by reconciling budgets, committed costs, expenses, billing, and collections on a monthly basis.
- Analyze the financial performance of projects, anticipate deviations, assess the impact of changes, and produce indicators for quick decision-making.
- Support project managers in budget tracking by providing analyses, recommendations, and tools that promote proactive cost management.
- Act as a business partner to project teams, accounting, and management to ensure the accuracy of financial data and a common view of performance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project control practices, processes, and tools to support A+'s growth.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting;
- Experience in project control in construction, ideally with a general contractor or real estate developer;
- Comfort with a high volume of projects and billing in parallel;
- Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of construction project management tools (e.g., Procore, Acumatica) is an asset.
- Real ability to coach: simplify numbers for project managers who are not all finance experts;
- Sense of organization and rigor;
- Knowledge of the Quebec construction regulatory framework (CCQ, RBQ, CNESST) is an asset.
