We are looking for an organized and engaged professional who will play a key role in coordinating health and safety activities, training, and managing disability files.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Health and Safety Coordinator ensures the coordination and follow-up of activities related to workplace health and safety, training, and the management of absence files for illness and/or short and long-term disability in a company with over 900 employees.
This person plays a key role in maintaining a safe work environment, developing employee skills, and supporting managers in applying best practices. They also ensure the updating and follow-up of files under their responsibility in the HR management systems, including FOLKS RH and Évolia.
Main Responsibilities
Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)
- Coordinate activities related to workplace health and safety,
- Ensure the application of policies, procedures, and best practices in WHS,
- Coordinate the health and safety committee, including preparing meetings, following up on actions, and updating documentation,
- Conduct investigations following incidents and hazardous situations, write the required reports, and follow up on corrective measures;
- Coordinate progressive returns to work and temporary work assignments and follow up on return plans with various stakeholders,
- Ensure administrative follow-up of WHS files,
- Compile and maintain up-to-date WHS information in FOLKS RH,
- Maintain up-to-date registers and required documents in health and safety,
- Sensitize employees and managers to safe practices,
- Coordinate mandatory, regulatory, and internal training (SIMDUT)
- Follow up on registrations, attendance, certifications, and renewals,
- Compile, maintain up-to-date, and follow up on employee training files in FOLKS RH,
- Follow up on training activities and maintain the required data in FOLKS RH to support training management and obligations under the Act favouring the development and recognition of workers' skills (1% law),
Management of Illness and Short and Long-Term Disability
- Ensure administrative follow-up of short and long-term absence files,
- Coordinate progressive returns to work and follow up on return plans with various stakeholders,
- Compile and maintain up-to-date information related to absences and disability files in FOLKS RH.
Qualifications
College or university diploma in human resources, industrial relations, workplace health and safety, administration, or a related field; 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in workplace health and safety, training, or disability file management,
Good knowledge of applicable legislation (CNESST, WSLA, LATMP, and workplace standards);
Good proficiency in Microsoft Office365;
Experience with FOLKS RH or an HRIS, particularly for tracking employee files, training, and compliance data (an asset).
Knowledge of Évolia (an asset)
