To support its mission and ensure sufficient food supply to meet the needs of the community, our client is looking for a Vendor Relations Coordinator to join its team. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing relationships with various food industry suppliers, donors, and partners. You will actively contribute to the implementation of supply strategies to ensure an adequate volume of food, both through the management of donations and strategic purchases.

Responsibilities

  • Vendor and Supply Development:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers;
  • Conduct market watch to identify, analyze, and implement supply opportunities;
  • Analyze supply statistics, develop, and implement solicitation strategies;
  • Negotiate competitive prices to supplement supply through purchases;
  • Implement incentives to maximize and optimize collaboration with suppliers;
  • Implement tools to optimize the use of food donations and minimize waste;
  • Stay informed and participate in events related to the food industry;
  • Participate in various committees, when required;
  • Collaborate on planning and coordinating special activities and events in consultation with team members.
  • Supermarket Recovery Program (SRP):
  • Monitor supermarkets to ensure the variety of donations and achieve objectives;
  • Provide training to supermarket employees at 90 partner grocery stores;
  • Strengthen the organization's ability to operate the SRP;
  • Keep the distribution center team informed of any procedural changes;
  • Analyze program statistics and make necessary follow-ups.

Profile

  • College diploma or any other relevant training;
  • 3 years of relevant experience in the role;
  • Experience in a philanthropic environment (an asset);
  • Good knowledge of the food industry;
  • Sense of initiative, autonomy, and professionalism;
  • Ability to manage priorities and stress;
  • Organized, with good ability to work in a multitasking environment;
  • Good team spirit;
  • Able to travel in the Quebec and Lévis regions, and occasionally in Portneuf and Charlevoix (valid driver's license).
