General Information
We are looking for a person to fill a regular accounting clerk position. If you are a meticulous, organized person and have an interest in accounting and administrative tasks, join our team! Under the supervision of the immediate superior, performs various accounting-related tasks; checks, controls, and balances accounting documents and pieces. Prepares and records data using a computer system.
Responsibilities
1. Ensures that all accounting documents comply with the University's standards regarding authorizations, accuracy of calculations, presence of supporting documents, and availability of funds.
2. Prepares, codes, and records data. Ensures that the allocation is made to the correct budgetary posts and the correct fiscal year. If necessary, opens accounts relevant to his/her sector.
3. Produces and checks various accounting reports or statements. If necessary, makes the appropriate corrections relevant to his/her field of activity and level of responsibility.
4. Checks and records documents and bank transfers. Reconciles different bank accounts; communicates with the concerned parties to request corrections for erroneous bank transactions.
5. Prepares general journal entries and records them in the accounting books.
6. Performs and checks various calculations such as currency conversion, tax calculations.
7. Communicates with other administrative units or organizations to obtain and provide various information related to his/her field of activity.
8. Checks the data entered on various documents such as procurement and reimbursement requests, petty cash; makes the necessary corrections according to established procedures.
9. Completes and sends various administrative forms.
10. Assumes responsibility for a filing system. Archives documents according to the applicable standards and procedures.
11. Gathers various information and documents necessary for the analysis of certain budgetary accounts. Prepares and analyzes reports.
12. Ensures the payment of supporting documents according to different types of payments such as check, draft, bank transfer; checks and, if necessary, makes the allocation by budgetary post.
13. Prepares, checks deposits, and takes the necessary dispositions.
14. Uses email to obtain or provide banking data.
15. Provides the responsible persons with the information and explanations regarding his/her field of activity.
16. Writes routine correspondence.
17. Submits various computer production tasks and ensures that they have been executed correctly.
18. Uses devices such as terminal, microcomputer, typewriter, calculator, photocopier, fax machine, folder, protectograph.
19. Notifies the concerned person of any anomaly or defect and takes the appropriate measures to remedy it.
20. Temporarily performs the tasks of a related or lower position when required.

UdeS offers a regular telecommuting program at a rate of one to three days per week; participation in the program is voluntary while respecting the operational needs of each unit. The start of the program can take place after a period of in-person training, established by the manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: DEP - Diploma of Vocational Studies in Accounting or equivalent education
- Experience: 3 years

- Required Qualifications before October 5, 1997 (Annex 5-D):
- Education: DES - Secondary Education Diploma
- Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience

- Required Tests:
- Two tests are required as a condition of qualification: an accounting test, passing grade: 60%; an Excel test, passing grade: 65%.
- When submitting your application, the relevant experience to demonstrate must reflect tasks in accounting.

- Class 7
- Hourly rate: $28.22 to $33.89
Regular full-time position, 35 hours per week, divided into 5 regular workdays of 7 hours each, from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
