Numbers speak to you and you like to have a concrete impact on business decisions? At Valmetal, your role as a Cost Analyst will be much more than tracking costs: you will become a strategic partner to optimize our financial performance and support our growth.
With your expertise, you will analyze production costs, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to implementing solutions that make a real difference. You will work at the heart of the action, collaborating with our teams, to turn data into profitability levers for the Valmetal Group.
Your daily challenges
- Evaluate production costs, including raw materials, labor, and general expenses, to determine the cost of our products.
- Participate in the ongoing project to implement permanent inventory.
- Establish standard costs for all our entities and monitor them.
- Analyze discrepancies between actual costs and standard costs, identify the causes, and propose corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on cost of goods sold, profit margins, and financial performance for management.
- Work closely with the production, engineering, and inventory management departments to optimize processes and reduce costs.
- Participate in the development and implementation of strategies to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Coordinate with accountants for the annual inventory count and cyclical reconciliations.
- Monitor inventories and report any anomalies or risks.
- Actively participate in the monthly closing (inventory), budgeting, and various planning reports.
- Play a key role in improving our sales pricing processes and the annual review of those prices.
Your superpowers
- Hold a DEC or a bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting in the manufacturing sector.
- Ability to structure, analyze, and interpret data in an operational and decision-making context.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools such as Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Good command of both French and English, both spoken and written, to communicate with our colleagues in the U.S. divisions (communication frequency between 40 and 60%).
- Availability for regular travel between our two plants (Saint-Germain-de-Grantham and ...) and occasional travel to our other sites.
