Materials Coordinator

As a Materials Coordinator, under the supervision of the Supply Chain Management Department, the successful candidate will plan or coordinate one or more of the following functions: procurement, receiving, warehousing, and issuing materials, according to the respective contract work schedules and the demands of the various production departments.

Specifically, you will be responsible for

• Planning or coordinating all activities related to the movement of materials within the shipyard or between the Davie shipyard and subcontractors or the client.
• Ensuring that all transactions affecting the movement of materials or impacting production schedules are reflected within the materials management information system.
• Checking the availability of materials at the shipyard to make them available to production and coordinating procurement and replenishment activities.
• Controlling the quantities of materials held in inventory and submitting, after approval, lists of missing materials to the Procurement Service.
• Issuing reports at various frequencies on the status of the materials you plan or control.
• Analyzing various computer reports to identify materials that are behind schedule or at risk of being so and participating in the development of backup solutions.
• Preparing various documents such as bills of lading, memoranda, and relevant shipping papers or completing the appropriate forms for credits to suppliers and customers when shipping recoverable materials (empty barrel, empty dolly, etc.).
• Performing any other tasks compatible with your duties at the request of your supervisor.

Qualifications

• Hold a College Diploma (DEC) in an appropriate discipline (procurement, inventory management).
• Have three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar position.
• Experience in the maritime industry is an asset.
• Be bilingual (an asset).
• Demonstrate autonomy.
• Possess a good analytical mind.
• Successfully complete the investigation and obtain the security clearance required under the Federal Contract Security Program (Minimum of 5 years of residence in Canada, with no interruption for 6 consecutive months).
