The Joliette Municipal Housing Office (OMHJ) is committed to providing quality, safe, and affordable housing to those in greatest need. As part of its development, the OMHJ is seeking a recognized Director of Finance with leadership, diligence, and a sense of management.

Reporting to the general management, the successful candidate will plan, organize, direct, and control all financial activities of the organization, ensuring sound, transparent, and compliant management with the Quebec Housing Corporation (SHQ) and applicable accounting standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform the complete accounting cycle of the Office, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, vendor and customer accounts, and end-of-month entries.
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Produce financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses.
  • Monitor grants, government programs, and financial agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare annual verification files and collaborate with external auditors.
  • Advise the general management and board of directors on financial and strategic issues.
  • Ensure the application of financial and administrative policies.
  • Collaborate with various government and municipal partners.
  • Conduct the complete hiring process, including job postings, receipt and sorting of applications, interview coordination, pre-hire checks, preparation of hiring documentation, and welcoming new employees.

Desired Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial management.
  • Experience in the public, para-public, or municipal sector (a plus).
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.

  • Sense of ethics, discretion, and analytical thinking.
