You act as a financial partner to the production and operations teams to ensure the accuracy of financial data and continuous process improvement.

Manufacturing Analysis and Cost of Goods Sold

  • Participate in maintaining and validating product standard costs;
  • Analyze production, raw material, labor, and efficiency variances;
  • Track inventory and required adjustments;
  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure the accuracy of manufacturing data;
  • Participate in product, project, or client margin and profitability analyses;
  • Contribute to the improvement of manufacturing performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Participate in physical inventories and inventory variance analyses;
  • Support continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives.

Accounting and Financial Information

  • Participate in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements;
  • Prepare various end-of-month accounting entries;
  • Participate in the monthly and annual closing process;
  • Produce various financial reports and analyses for management;
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts;
  • Support external audits and government requests;
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal controls and accounting processes.

Qualifications Required for the Cost of Goods Sold Specialist Position

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field;
  • CPA designation (completed or in progress) – an asset;
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in accounting, ideally in a manufacturing environment;
  • Good understanding of the complete accounting cycle;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing cost of goods sold principles;
  • Experience with a manufacturing ERP;
  • Advanced Excel proficiency;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • English: Bilingual (written/spoken) for regular interactions with English-speaking suppliers, partners, and stakeholders in the company's manufacturing and financial operations.
