YOUR ROLE

The director is involved in the management and planning of mandates, as well as client relations. He is responsible for managing and training the team of accounting technicians. He must also take on a portfolio of clients and support his existing SME clientele. The director must oversee the progress of mandates and manage the workload of team members as well as the budgets related to mandates.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the complete accounting cycle and investment accounting
  • Supervise, plan, and review accounting and tax reports executed by technicians.
  • Analyze and correct ledger and tax accounts with anomalies.
  • Manage a client list, plan, and coordinate tax and report production periods.
  • Perform, plan, and review investment accounting and analyze discrepancies during rebalancing.
  • Perform complex bookkeeping and manage a client list for bookkeeping.
  • Plan and coordinate the team's work for less complex files.
  • Act as a resource person for all stages of the accounting cycle.

Perform end-of-year accounting activities

  • Prepare the end-of-year file.

  • Track the age of client accounts and ongoing work.
  • Invoice mandates and identify additional work that can be billed.
  • Plan mandates according to deadlines and meet them.
  • Approve overtime and communicate it to the client.
  • Manage the mission's time budget and notify your director in case of an overrun to obtain additional budget.

Participate in the development of the firm

  • Identify planning elements and propose a time and fee budget to the partner.
