Cost Accountant

For the needs of its plant in St-Anselme, Aliments Sofina Inc. is currently looking for a Cost Accountant. Reporting to the Cost Accountant, the incumbent of the position ensures the integrity of the data in the plant's financial reports, in accordance with the standards and requirements established by the company. He provides analytical and financial support to the plant management.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, examines, and analyzes various production reports (daily, weekly, and monthly);
• Works closely with the Cost Accountant to improve production data;
• Assists plant management in analyzing discrepancies between actual and standard costs;
• Ensures the accuracy of inventories (work in progress, finished products, packaging materials, etc);
• Produces various analyses on inventories (rotation, obsolescence, level, value, etc) to ensure good management of them;
• Supports plant management in various departmental initiatives;
• Conducts product audits to ensure that product costs accurately reflect production processes;
• Participates in various tests in the plant to ensure that data is always up-to-date;
• Participates in the development of tools/reports that will help plant management better understand and manage their departments.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in accounting or equivalent;
• Hold a professional title from the Order of CPAs of Quebec or be in the process of obtaining it (an asset);
• Possess 3 years of experience in manufacturing accounting (food industry an asset);
• A combination of education/experience judged equivalent may be considered;
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with various services;
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple files simultaneously, and this, with tight deadlines;
• Very good computer skills MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other systems. Advanced Excel level;
• Knowledge of financial/operational database programs and ERP systems;
• Intermediate/advanced level of English.
