Senior Accounting Technician

Your Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing the company's accounting operations, with a primary focus on the complete customer accounts cycle.

You will join a Finance team of human size where collaboration, autonomy, and continuous improvement are at the heart of our practices. In addition to contributing to routine accounting activities, you will actively participate in the optimization and modernization of our processes, tools, and systems to enhance the efficiency of the Finance function.

Your challenge will consist of:

Ensuring complete management of the customer accounts cycle: billing, collection tracking, reminders, auxiliary ledger management, and resolving discrepancies;

Participating in the processing of vendor accounts, including invoice validation, payment preparation, and approval tracking;

Performing monthly bank reconciliations and analyzing discrepancies;

Preparing journal entries, provisions, and end-of-month adjustments;

Actively contributing to the modernization of our financial processes, systems, and internal controls;

Participating in the improvement of our master data and the automation of certain low-value-added activities;

Producing and evolving various financial reports using Excel and Power BI to support decision-making;

Collaborating with external auditors by preparing the required documentation and responding to information requests;

Supporting our internal clients, including sales, development, marketing, and management teams;

Working closely with the Finance Manager on various projects.

What will make you successful: DEC or university certificate in accounting, or any combination of education and experience deemed relevant; 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role;

Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the functioning of a Finance function;

Excellent mastery of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and report production);

Rigor, sense of organization, and attention to detail;

Autonomy, sense of responsibility, and professional maturity;

Strong interest in continuous improvement, process optimization, and automation;

Ability to thrive in an environment where collaboration, reliability, and quality of work are valued;

Experience with an ERP, particularly Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (a significant asset);

Knowledge of Power Query (an asset).
