Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of specialization, such as Accounting Sciences. Hold the CPA title or be in the process of obtaining it, and two (2) to four (4) years of experience in the field of accounting or finance.
Other Requirements
- Proficiency in English and French, both spoken and written;
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills;
- Proficiency in accounting software;
- Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook software;
- Experience in the education sector – an asset;
- Knowledge of GRICS products – an asset;
- Knowledge of Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards – an asset.
- Nature of Work:
The Analyst evaluates the needs related to one or more fields of activity of the school board, gathers information from users, and identifies potential sources of difficulties; they design, develop, and recommend solutions to address the identified difficulties. The Analyst designs, analyzes, evaluates, and applies professional techniques related to accounting, financial, and statistical operations.
Daily Tasks/Files
- Participates in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
- Conducts analysis of revenue, expense, and balance sheet accounts;
- Responsible for updating the chart of accounts and transmitting monthly and quarterly financial statements to the Ministry of Education of Quebec;
- Participates in the preparation of initial and revised budgets (monthly);
- Ensures budget tracking and monitoring of results;
- Conducts various analyses to meet the information needs of the department, prepares specific documents and reports;
- Participates in the development and implementation of standards and procedures related to their sector and ensures compliance;
- Prepares and supervises accounting entries, verifies the compliance of accounting operations;
- Responsible for bank reconciliations;
- Collaborates in the development and monitoring of links between various financial systems;
- Provides advisory support to the administrative staff of the institutions;
- Oversees the implementation of modules related to the accounting system (e.g., LaProcure-Dofin);
- Performs any other related tasks assigned by their immediate supervisor.
