The Accounting Technician ensures the completion of various essential accounting activities that support the smooth operation of the company's financial activities. This role involves managing invoicing, vendor accounts, reconciliations, and supporting the preparation of reports and end-of-period files. The person also contributes to maintaining the integrity of financial data and fostering harmonious collaboration within the department.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Produce customer invoices and perform related tasks (opening accounts, sending invoices, issuing account statements, etc.).
- Collect and track delinquent accounts.
- Prepare, follow up, and analyze internal AR reports.
- Verify the accuracy of customer balances and received payments.
- Collaborate on reconciliations and AR analyses during month-end.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Manage vendor accounts.
- Process import taxes payments.
- Prepare tax declarations (GST/HST) and make payments via the RBC platform.
- Record and pay contributions to the collective RÉER regime and RPDB.
General Accounting
- Ensure the complete payroll cycle, including preparation, verification, processing, government remittances, and compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Manage the complete cycle of general ledger accounts.
- Collaborate on month-end and year-end file preparation.
- Prepare and update various financial reports.
- Ensure exchange rates are updated monthly.
Financial Operations and Multi-Entity
- Submit the bank report to the headquarters.
- Be able to work across the three companies in the group and provide support to the other technician in case of workload (the "Equipment" company having a higher volume).
- Stay informed about the operations of the companies under your responsibility and maintain close communication with the team.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform any other relevant task as needed for operational requirements.
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Hold studies in accounting (Bachelor's, DEC, or equivalent).
- Master French and English, both spoken and written.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.

Skills and Abilities
- Excellent mastery of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, knowledge of Acomba and ServiCentre is an asset.
- Analytical capacity, diligence, and keen sense of responsibility.
- Self-reliant, organized, and team-oriented.
- Strong adaptability and stress management during peak periods associated with month-end closings.

- Given the small team size, a proactive and collaborative attitude is essential.
- The person must be able to quickly adapt to different internal systems and accounting procedures.
- The role involves the daily management of sensitive information requiring precision and vigilance.
- Peak periods are expected, particularly during month-end, quarter-end, and fiscal year-end.
- A high level of versatility is required to navigate between three companies and ensure operational continuity in support of colleagues.
Working Conditions
- 8-hour workday, Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid work mode.
- Discretionary bonus at the end of the fiscal year, based on company performance and personal objectives achievement.
- Three weeks of vacation per year.
- Five sick days per year, paid if unused.
