Accountant

Founded in 2008, ABC Mécanique is a company specialized in heavy machinery repair and maintenance. We are looking for an Accountant.

The candidate we are looking for is an autonomous, organized, and rigorous person who knows how to effectively manage their priorities, meet deadlines, and assume their responsibilities with professionalism.

The accountant will be responsible for the entire accounting cycle and will participate in the company's financial management. The main responsibilities are as follows:

Payroll

• Calculation and entry of weekly payroll
• Management of overtime and employee benefits
• Creation and management of employee files
• Management of child support payments
• Management of withholding taxes
• Production of employment statements
• Production of summaries, T4 and statements
• CNESST declarations and contributions

Accounts Payable

• Recording of invoices
• Management of accounts payable
• Payment of vendor accounts
• Preparation of bank transactions
• Verification of bank statements

Accounts Receivable

• Management of accounts receivable
• Collection from clients
• Entry of payments

Budget

• Planning and preparation of the monthly budget
• Update of financial planning
• Update of cash flow
• Management of expenses
• Monitoring of cash

Closing of the period

• Production of monthly tax reports, GST and QST
• Quarterly IFTA declarations
• Accounting and reconciliation of accounts (monthly and annual)
• Maintenance of books
• Collaboration on end-of-year files
• Processing government and federal requests
• Performing any other related tasks

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Diploma in accounting (DEP, DEC, or BAC, depending on experience)
• Languages spoken and written: French and English
• Knowledge of an accounting software (Acomba, an asset)
• Excellent mastery of Microsoft Excel
